The
Public Advocate has a unique reason for creating a blog, namely that
this office exists to remove barriers to accessing city services, as
well as provide increased transparency and accountability in city
government. This blog has been created to help New Yorkers connect with
the Office of the Public Advocate and Betsy Gotbaum, and give them more
access to the information they need to navigate city services. The blog
offers an opportunity for New Yorkers to voice their opinions and
thoughts on New York City current issues.
The Public Advocate’s Corner is intended to foster an online dialogue and build a virtual community around the issues that matter most to New Yorkers.
It will also offer an inside perspective from Public Advocate Gotbaum, a life-long New Yorker and public servant for 35 years.
