Thank you Ms. Gotbaum for all that you have done to highlight the issue of hunger and help to do something about it. It is appreciated!

Perhaps I should correct your public statement here ~

The soup kitchen at Holy Apostles -- or HA Church, as I refer to it, a reference to Zen uses of the term "ha!" to define the moment of Enlightenment -- is not so much a supplier of "emergency food," as you say; but a source of a healthy, fresh balanced meal 5 days a week, if you go there between the hours of 10:30 am and 12:30 pm.

Out here, we refer to "Food Pantries" as "emergency food sources,' which provide, under varying circumstances, a bag or box of groceries.

It took me a while to figure out these definitions; and because I was lost, confused, and hungry at the time, it took me longer than ususal to make these semantic and/or semiotic distinctions.
