Yes! One of the greatest values of term limits is to prevent public officials from abusing the power they have to intimidate, coerce, or manipulate others in order to stay in office. It's bad enough that the bill reflects Bloomberg's deal with Lauder, a fellow billionaire but not an elected official. It's worse to see Quinn, who was elected by the people, supporting Bloomberg in exchange for a potential appointment as Deputy Mayor and a promise of his endorsement for her bid for Mayor in 2013. I'm sure she's not the only one in the City Council making this decision out of fear of retaliation or the hope of favors by Bloomberg. This kind of back room deal making and behavior is what makes the general public so fed up with politics and politicians.
